Record number of marathon runners for sold-out TCS Amsterdam Marathon

A unique development in the history of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon: more than six months before the start of the 48th edition, all 45,000 bibs for the Platinum Label marathon have been allocated. Remarkably, there's been growth in the number of participants in the full marathon. On Sunday, October 20, a record number of 22,500 runners will start on the classic distance. Besides the main event, both the Mizuno Half Marathon and TCS 8K are also completely sold out. More than half of the participants are from abroad, once again confirming the great international appeal of this autumn marathon and the city of Amsterdam.

Race director René Wit of Sports Organization Le Champion stated, "The fact that we are already sold out marks an important milestone for us as an organization. The enthusiasm from both the national and international marathon community underscores the ambitions we have with the TCS Amsterdam Marathon. By adding a second starting location to the event in 2023, the path has been cleared for a gradual growth of our participant field."

On Sunday, October 20, 15,000 marathon runners will start at the Olympic Stadium, while the remaining 7,500 participants will start directly outside the stadium on Stadionweg. After one kilometer, the two streams of participants merge, and all runners follow the same course from the Vondelpark. The finish is the same for everyone, at the Olympic Stadium.
